North American Tour supporting Unleash the Archers and Striker

We have been waiting to make this announcement! We are thrilled to say we will be joining our friends Unleash The Archers and Striker (CAN) on a full North American tour starting this September. Please check back soon for final date announcements.

From the UTA post:
We know you guys have been waiting extremely patiently for us to announce our North American tour, but we are still waiting for a few venues to confirm, so all we can tell you right now is that IT IS HAPPENING and that all dates will be announced next week. We are so excited to come play for our Canadian and American fans, and we want you all to know that this tour is BIG. It will hit up both coasts as well as the south, the Midwest and Canadian prairies, hence why it is taking so long to complete. Another thing we are allowed to tell you is that we will be hitting the road with two insanely talented bands, both of whom we consider close friends, so get your stoke on, ’cause Striker (CAN) and Helion Prime are gonna slay some face along with UTA this fall! Seriously can’t wait for this guys, we’ll see you all soon! \m/

Now with our great news comes a bit of unfortunate news. Due to this tour being so close and some hold ups with visa issues Sozos will not be able to join on us this tour. We looked at our options and discussed thoroughly what course of action we should take. Ultimately we all agreed the tour should continue. Standing in for Sozos will be the amazing and very talented Mary Zimmer owner of VoiceHacks – Tutorials & Lessons for Singers & Screamers current singer of Santa Marta, and has also sang for White Empress and Luna Mortis. She is no doubt capable to front us on this tour!

We understand to some it will be disappointing to not see Sozos but Visas are something out of our control I’m afraid. Sozos himself wanted to personally reach out:

“Hello all,

I am really sorry about the fact that I can’t make it to this tour. I’ve had issues with my visa (I have the wrong type) and as a result it will take some time to sort it out and for me to be able to come to the US again. I am confident that the rest of Helion Prime will do a phenomenal job with my temporary replacement, Mary Zimmer.

Despite the tour setback, I’m really excited for all of you to listen to our new tracks, whether that is in concert or digitally. Jason and I are already working on Helion Prime’s third album, sketching out an outline for it and bouncing ideas off each other.

I apologize again for not being able to make it, hopefully I will be there for the next tour. I really appreciate the love and support I have received so far, and I will keep trying to prove that they are well-placed.

We are going to have a great time on the road and we hope you will come join us!

New Album Announcement!

HELION PRIME and their mascot – the mighty Saibot – return with their sophomore effort ‘Terror Of The Cybernetic Space Monster’. The album consists of nine brand new tracks – with the seventeen minute monster title song marking a stunning finale. The Sacramento (California) based power metal band’s new piece of work was mixed and mastered at LSD studio by Lasse Lammert (known for his work with bands like Alestorm and Gloryhammer). HELION PRIME continues their theme of blending science fiction with science fact.

Founder Jason Ashcraft comments: “I wasn’t sure where I was going when writing this album. As fans who follow us closely know, it’s been a bumping two years for us since the release of our debut. We are back and fully inspired. This album focuses more on human nature and our battle with the good and evil within ourselves. I did not plan this when starting the album but that is where it naturally evolved. I am very pleased with the result and hope you are all as equally excited.”

This album will mark the first time the full band line up is joined together on a release. This also marks the debut of Sozos Michael on vocals.

Sozos remarks on the subject: “Working on this album has been an incredibly rewarding experience. While Jason had a clear vision as to what this album would shape up to be as the principal songwriter, he was always open to my ideas on vocal lines and lyrics. Our collaboration went very smoothly and it definitely shows on the final product.”

Jason also comments on the audition of Sozos: “He is the kind of singer I have always dreamed of working with. Not only are his vocal skills top notch but he understands and knows what the music needs. Writing together for this album was a breeze and I hardly had to ask for any rewrites. Often he would send me ideas that was exactly what I was thinking. I am thrilled to work with someone like that and can’t wait to see what we accomplish together.”

The cover art was once again done by Marc Whisnant, who was already responsible for the artwork of the band’s self-titled debut album, which was released via Divebomb Records in early 2016 before AFM Records signed the band to a worldwide deal and re-issued “Helion Prime” almost exactly a year after its initial release. Press hailed the album as a breath of fresh air in the power metal scene and called it one of the most innovative power metal records in a long time.

Helion Prime Parts Ways with Kayla Dixon

By now some have already heard the rumors.

It is true that Helion Prime has decided to continue on without Kayla on vocals.

We know that this comes as both a shock and low blow to the fans. For that we are deeply sorry. It’s not a decision that was easily made.

A lot of people don’t get to see the behind the scenes of a band and sadly it’s not all sunshine and rainbows. Things don’t always work out as you hope.

We wish Kayla nothing but the best of luck in her future career as a musician and actress.

We understand this will be hard for some people to accept and we ask you have trust in us and know we are only looking out for the future of this band and what we feel is right for ourselves and the fans.

We have plans to enter the studio this week to begin tracking the second album. This will not be changed and tracking of the second album will push forward as planned. This band means the world to us and we will continue to push forward and upward.

Thanks to everyone who has supported us and will continue to support us.

-Jason Ashcraft

Helion Prime is pleased to present our new single "Remnants of Stars" out everywhere via AFM Records.

Jason comments on the release: "I'm very excited with how this song turned out. It holds true to the Helion Prime sound, but adds a few new elements into the mix. Kayla's vocals are powerful and in your face. Her darker bluesy tone also adds a nice touch. Alex's drumming is monstrous, and I feel it really shines on this single. A great taste of what's to come from both of them! Chad also makes his recording debut with us, offering a very tasty solo that compliments the song well!"

We hope you enjoy this new single. It will also appear on Helion Prime's sophomore album which has a working title of "The Terror of Saibot". An expected release is late 2017/early 2018. Stick around for more details in the coming months.

If you live around the west coast of the US, be sure to catch us on our Saibot's Rampage Tour!
